Stehr Trench Cutter for Cables

Stehr’s trench cutter is a fast alternative to dug and ploughed trenches and channels, for example for the installation of fibre cables.

With the Stehr trench cutter, a trench between 8 and 35 cm in width and up to 130 cm in depth can be dug quickly for laying, for example, fibre cables. The trench cutter is mounted on the tractor’s three-point linkage. The PTO shaft drives the cutting wheel through a reduction gearbox, providing very high torque.

Stehr has more than 30 years of experience in manufacturing special-purpose machines for road construction and soil treatment.

It is a cheaper and, in many cases, better solution than a self-propelled cutter. Time and fuel are saved by digging a trench as narrow as 8 cm instead of using mini excavators or similar machines, and the method requires less space for excavated material.

Application

  • Cuts narrow, precise trenches up to 130 cm deep.
  • Ideal for laying fibre cables.
  • Water pipes, sewer pipes, power cables.
  • Drainage, separation membranes, flood barriers.

Advantages

  • Cheaper and stronger than a self-propelled cutter.
  • Less maintenance than chain trenchers.
  • Precise trench walls.
  • Direct drive via the PTO shaft provides high torque.
  • Lower fuel consumption and emissions than trenchers.
