Gravel Roads maintenance

Stehr’s system for gravel road maintenance can consist of a stone crusher, stabilization mill, tractor-towed grader and plate compactor.

Worn Gravel Roads

Gravel roads that have deteriorated over years of use can be restored using Stehr’s robust machinery.

As a first step, stones are crushed using the Stehr SSB 240 stone crusher or the Stehr SBF 24 stabilization mill. With tungsten carbide–reinforced chisels, both asphalt and larger stones and debris are crushed to a depth of up to 20 cm.

The next step is typically grading with the tractor-towed Stehr SUG 35T grader before the road is compacted with, for example, the efficient front-mounted plate compactors Stehr SBV 80-H3.

As an intermediate step, lime or cement can be mixed into the base layer using the Stehr SBS 3000 lime spreader.

Application

  • Maintenance of gravel roads.
  • Farm roads, roads in holiday home areas, access roads to wind turbines.
